Class Levels
Mommy & Me = 2 & 3 year olds / adult accompanies to class
PreBallet = 3 & 4 year olds / 1st year of dance
Beginner = 4 year olds who have completed 1 yr of PreBallet
Level I = Kindergarten-1st grade
Level II = 2nd-3rd grade
Level III = 4th-5th grade
Level IV = 6th=8th grade
Level V = 9th-12th grade
Mommy & Me
For 2 & 3 year olds
Accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult
45 minute class/meets once a week
Wednesdays 5:30-6:15
This class focuses on creative movement, balance, flexibility, & gross motor skills. This is a fun, movement filled class that will include short dance routines
PreBallet
For 3 & 4 year olds experiencing their 1st year of dance
45 minute class/meets once a week
Tuesdays 6:30-7:15 OR Wednesdays 6:30-7:15
Dancers will learn basic ballet steps & terminology. They will work on motor skills, creative movement, musicality, rhythm, & flexibility. Dancers will learn simple dance routines
Participants will perform in The Nutcracker & in the Spring Recital
Beginner Ballet / Tap
For 4 year olds who have had 1 year prior experience of PreBallet
45 minute class/meets once a week
Mondays 4:30-5:15 OR Tuesdays 5:00-5:45
Basic tap & ballet skills plus dance terminology are taught. Beginner Ballet / Tap classes offer an atmosphere of fun within discipline so the student can gain a sense of accomplishment as well as exploring the love for dance
Participants will perform in The Nutcracker & in the Spring Recital
Beginner Jazz
For 4 year olds who have had 1 year prior experience of PreBallet
30 minute class/meets once a week
Mondays 4:00-4:30 OR Tuesdays 5:45-6:15
Beginner Jazz introduces our returning preschool aged dancers to jazz dance. The class will focus on rhythm, body isolations, & flexibility. Students will learn dance routines to fun, upbeat, age appropriate music
Participants will perform at the Jenny Wiley Festival & in the Spring Recital
Ballet
Offered to Kindergarten - 5th graders
30 minute class/meets once a week
Ballet classes are a must for every serious dancer & are the foundation for all other dance styles offered at our studio. Our ballet classes focus on ballet terminology, proper turnout, & proper body placement
Participants will perform in The Nutcracker & in the Spring Recital
Pointe
Offered to 6th - 12th graders
1 hour class/meets once a week
Pointe is offered to advanced ballet students 6th through 12th grade (by permission of the instructor only). Once it has been determined that the dancer has the proper turnout, technique, & strength required for pointe work, they will be allowed to purchase shoes & begin to work on toe. Pointe class includes strengthening exercises at the barre & at center, as well as across the floor work & choreography

Tap
Offered to Kindergarten - 12th graders
K-5th grade: 30 minute class/meets once a week
6th-12th grade: 1 hour class/meets once a week
Students in our tap classes improve their rhythm & musicality while literally “making music” with their feet. They will learn basic tap steps, terminology, & learn fun, fast paced routines
Participants will perform in the Spring Recital
Jazz
Offered to Kindergarten - 12th graders
K-1st grade: 30 minute class/meets once a week
2nd-12th grade: 1 hour class/meets once a week
A fast paced class including a stretch, warm up, & learning dance routines including all the latest moves from pop culture. Aside from standard American Jazz, students will also be exposed to hiphop, lyrical jazz, & Broadway jazz. They will also learn technical skills such as leaps, turns, & jumps that will be incorporated into the choreography

Lyrical
Offered to Kindergarten - 12th graders
K-1st grade: 30 minute class/meets once a week
2nd-12th grade: 1 hour class/meets once a week
Lyrical Dance (also known as Contemporary Dance) is a combination of ballet, jazz, plus modern & is performed to music with emotional lyrics. The lyrics of the song are the driving force for the inspiration of the movement. Choreography is often emotional, gripping, & usually tells a story. Lyrical offers dancers the opportunities to not only perform choreography, but to truly express themselves & tell a story through dance

HipHop
Offered to Kindergarten - 12th graders
K-1st grade: 30 minute class/meets once a week
2nd-12th grade: 1 hour class/meets once a week
HipHop is a fast paced, high energy class that focuses on the street style dance that you see in many music videos & commercials today. HipHop consists of body isolations & contractions. It also consists of pop locking movements, a lot of floor work, & dance "tricks"
Participants will perform at the Jenny Wiley Festival & in the Spring Recital
