We are excited to welcome the students back to our second semester of dance classes. We will begin preparing for our Spring Recital which will be held at the Mountain Arts Center (May 31st & June 1st). This year’s theme is “Elevate.”

Instructors will be measuring students for their recital costumes in class the first two weeks of Jan. Have all schedule changes completed by Jan. 22nd so correct costumes will be ordered for your child.

Costume Order Forms are due to the DE office by Jan. 22nd. Note: Costumes are tentative & may have to be changed at any point due to supply demands.

Recital packets with all show details will be sent home in March.

You will NOT need to re-enroll if you are a current student who plans to stay in the same classes this semester (your Fall term classes will roll over to the Spring term).

If you plan to change your class selection, please fill out a Drop/Add Form in the office when classes resume (the week of Jan. 9th). Changes are due by Jan. 22nd.

We will be accepting new students through Jan. 22nd. Please complete a Registration Form & turn in to the office.

Who are we?

Dance Etc. has been serving dancers & their families in Eastern Kentucky since 1994.  We pride ourselves on professional dance instruction in a positive & fun learning environment. Dance Etc. offers classes in Mommy & Me, Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, & Jazz for ages two & up. 

Our instructors are experienced & always approach all students in a professional yet loving & friendly manner. They feel very blessed to be able to share their love & appreciation for dance with their students. To learn more about our instructors, click on the "Staff" page. 

PROVIDING PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

The Nutcracker

This holiday favorite has become a beloved tradition for our community. Each year, Dance Etc. ballet students (PreBallet through 12th grade) look forward to performing this classic tale for schools, friends, & family. All 6 performances are held at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, a state of the art facility which seats over 1,000 spectators.

Annual Spring Recital

To wrap up the end of our Spring semester, all Dance Etc. students (PreBallet through 12th grade) perform in our annual Recital. The production is set to a fun, new theme each year & showcases all styles of dance offered at DE (ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, & hiphop). Graduating seniors perform solos & our Elite Teams conclude their season with their final performance. All 4 shows are held at the state of the art Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, KY.

Elite Competition Teams

Dance Etc. is also the home to the Dance Etc. Elite All-Star Dance Teams. These groups are made up of dancers chosen by invitation out of their weekly dance classes to travel & compete with the award winning teams. The present teams include over 80 dancers from 7 counties & over 20 different schools. In addition to competing, these dancers perform at the Jenny Wiley Festival, in our annual Elite Showcase, & in the Spring Recital. Jenny Wiley Festival

All DE Jazz, Lyrical, & HipHop students help kick off our local festival with a fun evening of dance. Our Elite teams also get to debut their latest competition routines at this event.

DE Summer Camp

Our week long camp allows attendees to sample multiple styles of dance prior to Fall registration. Dancers will take classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hiphop, & musical theatre. On the last day of camp, students perform the routines they learned throughout the week.

Kentucky Opry Junior Pros Halloween Show

DE students have the opportunity to audition to be a dancer in this spook-tacular show. Getting to perform alongside the amazingly talented musicians & singers in the Kentucky Opry Junior Pros is always a fun & exciting experience.
